ENGLISH TEACHING ASSISTANT PROGRAM

Come teach English in Quito! Volunteers are needed to improve the lives of poor children and their families through education and social support in local schools.
Information about the school:
QS is a public, experimental elementary school, located in the north part of Quito. There are 350 students and only one English teacher who teaches grades one through seven every morning. The volunteer will assist the local English teacher.
Besides the regular classes the QS school offers many extracurricular activities such as a cooking club, art club and music club. Volunteers are encouraged to assist in these clubs
Requirements for the volunteers:
- MÃnimum 18 years old
- Both genders are welcome
- Basic Spanish
- Experience is not required
- Outgoing personality and an interest in working with children helps
- Work from Monday to Friday, assisting with two or three classes  per day
- Hours usually 8-12 in the morning
Volunteer tasks:
- Volunteers will help the students with their English pronunciation as well as develop their listening and conversational skills.
- Help the local teacher correcting English homework
- Organize activities in English such as games and songs for the students.
- Help the students with their computer skills
